Your gift goes directly toward the "margin of excellence" for our city's parks. While the City of Kirkwood budget covers essential daily operations and maintenance, Foundation funds are used for enhancements, new amenities, and special projects that often fall outside of the current budget. This includes things like playground upgrades, beautification projects, and other new offerings.

We would love to have you! Community engagement is at the heart of what we do. You can get involved by joining one of our project committees, helping with fundraising events, or even applying to serve on our Board of Directors. For those looking for "boots on the ground" park maintenance (like planting or trail work), we often partner with the City’s volunteer programs as well. Fill out the Volunteer Interest Form.

We do! In-kind gifts—such as professional services (landscaping, legal, marketing), materials for park projects, or items for fundraising auctions—are a fantastic way to support the Foundation. While the Parks Foundation operates independently, we do work closely with the Kirkwood Parks and Recreation Department and the Master Plan to identify high-priority needs that fall outside the city’s budget. We prioritize projects that have a significant community impact, enhance the unique character of Kirkwood, and align with our mission to sustain and improve the parks.
